Filming in Myanmar

Myanmar is a beautiful country, with rich cultural traditions and many Buddhist temples & pagodas, miles of pristine beaches, untouched jungle and agricultural landscapes. The river city of Yangon is the home to Shwedagon Pagoda, colonial architecture and a variety of street markets. Other locations include Mandalay, home to thousands of temples, and Nappyidaw which is the pre-planned capital city, with is 16 lane ‘ghost’ highway.

Our Footprint

Asia Film fixers have been providing production support in Myanmar since the country opened up for international filming in 2012. We have two offices located in Yangon and Mandalay. Our expatriate management team bring a wealth of international knowledge which they impart to our Burmese fixers and production assistants.

Permits

The application process in Myanmar is lengthy, but definitely worth the wait. The entire process takes 8 weeks, and Asia Film Fixers hand delivers all correspondence to the governments Motion Picture Enterprise Department, who issues the national filming permissions. Asia Film Fixers will facilitate the entire process, as well as acquire the appropriate visas for our international crew. Myanmar is NOT a Carnet signatory, and as such Asia Film Fixers will provide all the necessary documentation to the Myanmar Customs department to allow your production to temporarily import equipment and props for your
production.
